Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
The Professional Playbook (theprofessionalplaybook.com) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal data when you visit theprofessionalplaybook.com, subscribe to our newsletter, create an account, use IkigAI Guide or AI Enablement, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us in connection with the website.
1. Who we are
The Professional Playbook is operated by Leerie Tech F.Z.E., a company registered in Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates.
In relation to the personal data covered by this Privacy Policy, Leerie Tech F.Z.E. generally acts as the entity responsible for determining why and how that personal data is processed.
You can contact us regarding privacy matters at:
Email: contact@theprofessionalplaybook.com
This Privacy Policy applies only to theprofessionalplaybook.com. Leerie Tech's other websites and services, including leerietech.com and aibuddies.tech, are separate properties with their own privacy policies, their own data collection, and their own consent and registration flows. Using one Leerie Tech property does not automatically enrol you in another.
2. Personal data we collect
What we collect depends on how you interact with the site.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect:
- your email address;
- your name, if you provide one; and
- your subscription and communication preferences.
Account registration — IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement
To use IkigAI Guide or AI Enablement, or make a purchase, you create an account. We collect:
- your email address;
- your name;
- your profession or role, selected from a list or entered by you;
- a password, which is processed and stored by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing — we do not store your password in plain text and it is not visible to us;
- your newsletter and marketing communication preferences; and
- the date you accepted these Terms and this Privacy Policy, and, where applicable, a referral code associated with your sign-up.
Conversations and AI Enablement responses
Using IkigAI Guide or AI Enablement involves us collecting:
- the messages you send, and the AI-generated responses to them;
- for AI Enablement, your answers to onboarding and self-report questions, such as your role, the tools you use, notes on your daily work, and your organisation's exposure to AI, and the tasks, plans and follow-up discussion generated from that information;
- usage patterns, such as how often you use the product, used to operate features like plan updates; and
- account and plan information (free trial, active subscription, tier, bundle status, etc.).
Conversation and task content is encrypted on our servers, and is processed by a third-party AI provider to generate responses — see Section 5 (How we share personal data).
Payment and billing information
When you make a purchase, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment-card or other payment-method details directly. We do not receive or store your full card number or similar sensitive payment credentials. We retain records of your purchases, including the amount charged, currency, product purchased, and references (such as a checkout session or subscription identifier) needed to identify, manage, bill and support your purchase.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described below.
| Cookie | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Account session | Keeps you signed in and identifies your account; set by our authentication provider. | Managed by our authentication provider |
| Referral attribution | Remembers a referral code so a referral is credited correctly. | Up to 30 days |
| Currency and country | Remembers your approximate country and preferred display currency, derived from your IP address, so pricing is shown correctly. | Up to 24 hours |
| Anonymous visitor identifier | Distinguishes your browser from others before you have an account, so we can understand how visitors move through the website and attribute a later sign-up or purchase to the visit that led to it. | Up to 30 days |
| Campaign attribution | Remembers which marketing campaign or link brought you to the website. | Up to 30 days |
| Draft/progress | Lets you resume an in-progress sign-up flow, such as an AI Enablement self-assessment, without losing your answers. | Up to 7 days |
| Administrative session | Used only by our authorised staff to access internal administrative tools. | Up to 12 hours |
We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural advertising technologies on theprofessionalplaybook.com. When you first visit the website, we show a cookie notice with Accept and Decline options. Strictly necessary cookies (such as those needed to keep you signed in or process a payment) are set regardless, but analytics cookies (Google Analytics, PostHog) are not set until you click Accept, and are never set if you click Decline or simply leave the notice unanswered.
Device, log and technical information
When you access the website, our hosting, security and network service providers may automatically process limited technical information, such as:
- your Internet Protocol address;
- browser and device type;
- operating system;
- date and time of access;
- requested pages;
- referring website or source;
- diagnostic, security and error information; and
- similar server and network logs.
We use a third-party geolocation service to derive an approximate country from your IP address, primarily to show you pricing in your local currency; the resulting country (not your raw IP address) may be stored against your account and against page-visit or marketing-campaign records described above. We use this technical information primarily to provide, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the website.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how visitors use the website in aggregate, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive at the site, and how key product flows are used.
Safety monitoring
We use automated tools to screen messages sent to IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement for certain safety concerns, such as content describing self-harm or illegal activity. Where content is flagged, the relevant excerpt and our system's response may be retained, in encrypted form and accessible only to authorised personnel, for review purposes even where it would otherwise have been deleted.
Please do not submit passwords, payment-card information, medical information, government identification numbers or other highly sensitive information through any form or conversation on the website.
3. How we use personal data
We may use personal data to:
- send the newsletter and manage your subscription;
- create and manage your account, and authenticate your sign-in;
- operate IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement, including generating AI-based conversation responses, task suggestions and plans, and managing your subscription and usage;
- process payments, manage billing and subscriptions, and send related notices (such as receipts and renewal reminders);
- localise pricing and currency based on your approximate location;
- understand and improve how the website and the Services are used, including through analytics and marketing-attribution data;
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the website and its products;
- screen for safety concerns and prevent misuse, fraud, security incidents and unlawful activity;
- maintain appropriate business, compliance and communication records;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- comply with applicable legal, regulatory and governmental requirements; and
- send marketing communications where you have separately requested or consented to receive them.
Newsletter subscription and account creation are separate — subscribing to one does not opt you into the other, and neither requires you to agree to unrelated marketing communications.
Where required, we process personal data based on your consent. In other circumstances, we may process personal data where necessary to operate a product or account you have signed up for, to provide a purchase you have made, to comply with a legal obligation, or for legitimate business purposes permitted by applicable law.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal.
4. Marketing communications
We will send newsletter content, promotional emails or service updates only where you have opted in (such as by subscribing) or where another lawful basis permits us to do so.
You can stop receiving marketing communications, including the newsletter, at any time by:
- using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication; or
- emailing contact@theprofessionalplaybook.com.
Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending non-promotional communications relating to your active account, a purchase, an existing relationship, legal notices, or service-related matters (for example, a billing receipt or a security notice).
5. How we share personal data
We do not sell or rent personal data.
We may disclose personal data to:
- Anthropic, our AI provider, which processes conversation and task content to generate responses within IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement, including for the safety-monitoring purposes described above;
- Stripe, our payment processor, which processes payment and billing information to complete and manage your purchases;
- Supabase, our hosting, database and authentication provider, which stores account and product data and manages sign-in;
- Resend, our transactional-email provider, used to send account, billing and product-related emails;
- ipapi.co, our geolocation-lookup provider, used solely to estimate your country from your IP address for currency localisation;
- Google Analytics and PostHog, used for website and product-usage analytics;
- our hosting infrastructure provider;
- professional advisers, such as legal, accounting, insurance or compliance advisers;
- other contractors or service providers supporting our operations;
- public authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required or permitted by law;
- a prospective purchaser, investor or successor in connection with a merger, restructuring, financing, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business; and
- other parties where you have authorised the disclosure or where it is otherwise permitted by law.
Service providers are authorised to process personal data only for the purposes for which it was disclosed to them and subject to appropriate contractual, confidentiality or security obligations, where applicable.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including our AI, payment, hosting, database and analytics providers, may process or store personal data outside the United Arab Emirates.
Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to ensure that the transfer is made in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements. Depending on the circumstances, these measures may include transferring data to a jurisdiction recognised as providing an appropriate level of protection, implementing contractual or organisational safeguards, obtaining express consent where legally valid and appropriate, or relying on another transfer mechanism permitted by applicable law.
The privacy and data-protection laws of the destination country may differ from those of the UAE.
7. Data security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data appropriate to its nature. Data submitted through the website is transmitted using encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Conversation and task content associated with IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement is encrypted at rest on our servers. Our infrastructure providers apply their own standard baseline protections to the systems and databases we use.
No website, internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should therefore avoid sending confidential or sensitive information through any form or conversation on the website unless it is necessary and appropriate to do so.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
As a general rule:
- newsletter subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe or the address becomes invalid;
- account, conversation and task data is retained while your account is active;
- if you request deletion of your account while you hold an active paid subscription, we cancel future billing immediately, but deletion of your account and its data takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, rather than immediately;
- enquiries, drafts or self-assessment information that never results in an account may be retained for a limited period and deleted or anonymised thereafter; and
- we may retain limited records after account deletion — such as safety-related records, fraud-prevention records, or records required for legal, tax or accounting purposes — for as long as reasonably necessary or required by law, generally in a form no longer directly linked to your identity where practicable.
We may delete or anonymise information earlier where it is no longer reasonably required.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law and any relevant exceptions, you may have the right to:
- obtain information about how your personal data is processed;
- request access to personal data held about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request deletion of personal data;
- request restriction or cessation of certain processing;
- object to certain uses of personal data, including direct marketing;
- request transfer of personal data where applicable;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- raise a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, contact contact@theprofessionalplaybook.com. We currently handle these requests manually rather than through an automated self-service tool.
We may request information reasonably necessary to confirm your identity and protect personal data from unauthorised disclosure. We will review and respond to requests within the period required by applicable law.
A request may be refused or limited where permitted by law, including where the request would adversely affect another person's rights, we are required to retain the information, or an applicable legal exception applies.
10. Children
This website and its products, including IkigAI Guide, AI Enablement and the newsletter, are intended for working professionals aged 18 or older and are not directed to children.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children through the newsletter, an account, or any enquiry form. If you believe that a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete the information.
11. Automated decision-making
IkigAI Guide and AI Enablement use AI to generate responses, task suggestions and plans based on what you share. This is intended as guidance, not a decision made about you — it does not determine eligibility, produce legal or similarly significant effects, or replace professional, legal, medical, financial or psychological advice. We do not currently use personal data collected through the website to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
12. Third-party websites
The website may link to third-party websites and to other websites or services operated by Leerie Tech, including leerietech.com and aibuddies.tech.
This Privacy Policy does not govern information collected through another website or platform, including Leerie Tech's other properties, each of which has its own privacy policy, data collection, and consents. You should review the privacy policy applicable to the relevant website or service before providing personal data there.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, services or legal obligations.
The revised version will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Where a change is material and applicable law requires additional notice, we will provide that notice through an appropriate method.
